Occidental Lodge

Always love this place. Updated rooms and plentyof space. So, central to many day trips and excursions. Walk across the street for a drink, a cup of coffee, or a delicious meal. Super chill check in and checkout process as well.

It was wonderful , we used the microwave and the A/C they were very accommodating. The service was very nice , the two gentlemen that checked us in and out we're great for a good talk. The location is a must come back with it's very few stores and houses just within it's distance. I feel everyone should give this place a try , it isn't far from the beach at all.

The nicest people in the world! Rooms are cosy and cheerful. We got sick, by some misfortune while here and the staff could not have been nicer!

This hotel has a super friendly and helpful staff! We had two rooms there over the course of a week. The first was a bit dated and carpeted on the first floor. The next was a tastefully decorated and updated room on the second. There was a nice small pool area as well. The hotel is pet friendly. The staff, in particular Brian and Ryder were very accommodating and supportive as we were there day to day for a week waiting to determine if our RV was being totaled and then picked up. The team were blocking rooms for us and rearranging bookings so we didn’t have to bounce around. They gave great pointers to activities in town (eg Thurs pm farmers market) and places to go (hint breakfast at Howard’s bakery/cafe across the street). Occidental is a quaint little town where you can walk to everything from this hotel in minutes. It has a hippie vibe which made it interesting and fun. Thanks to a great team for the care and consideration during our stay!!

I have lived in Sonoma County since 1977. I am well acquainted with Occidental, but I had never stayed at the Occidental Lodge. I struggle with PTSD and the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve wreak havoc on me. Last Fourth of July, I swore I would never go through it again And I thought of a town in Sonoma County that did not have a legal firework show. Occidental is perfect. It’s small, and quiet and peaceful. The room was squeaky clean and perfect for me. I spent several hours either in or by the pool, sometimes I was the only one enjoying the outdoors. People meander to the pool and then walk down the small hill, back into town to go shopping or eat. All the guests were respectful and quiet and I didn’t hear a sound as I slept in my comfortable bed. I will be 62 this month and I’m thinking, ‘why did I wait so long to have an annual one day retreat?’ So I’m starting a new trend for me. Maybe twice a year if I can toss in New Year’s Eve! I am very happy with my stay here.

This is a wonderful lodge! We were traveling with a toddler and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Thank you for a great stay. Love the vintage sign out front

Staff, Ryder & Brian absolutely amazing, friendly, knowledgeable hosts. They made the stay wonderful. We stayed 2 nights, It is in a perfect location. I give the room 4 stars because there was a clump of dog hair and a used soap bar in the bathroom. Other than that, we will return. The pool area was nice too.

The location and the front desk were great. However the room we were in (124) were not good. The AC isn't working properly (room is still hot after 5 hours) and was very noisy.
